Deel pricing currently runs from $5 to $599 per person a month, and which end you pay depends almost entirely on who you are hiring. The two anchor prices are $599 per employee a month for employer of record (EOR) hiring, where Deel becomes your worker’s legal employer in their own country, and $49 per contractor a month for contractor management. US and global payroll cost $29 per employee a month, with the US PEO at $125, HR plans from $5 to $29 and recruiting at $14 a worker, all listed on Deel’s pricing page as of October 2026.

EOR hires carry one extra beyond the fee: a refundable deposit of one to one and a half months of all monthly charges, invoiced and refunded in the worker’s country currency, under Deel’s deposit rules.

Off-cycle pay, where an employee is paid outside the normal cycle, adds a $29 fee per employee per request under Deel’s off-cycle payments policy, on top of the plan’s monthly fee.

How much Deel costs depends on who you are hiring: every figure is a current list price read from Deel’s pricing page in October 2026, and every plan is month to month with no long-term commitments. An employee hired abroad lands on EOR at $599, a US employee lands on payroll or the PEO, and a contractor lands on the $49 plan unless Deel becomes the contracting party. The US PEO row uses the $125 Hire tab card price; the same page’s Pay tab lists two PEO tiers, PEO Starter at $110 and PEO Pro at $120 per employee a month, currently.

Deel groups these products on its pricing page under three tabs: Hire carries EOR, contractors and recruiting, Pay carries payroll, the PEO and its add-ons, and Manage carries the HR tiers. The Pay tab add-ons price per employee a month, currently $10 for global benefits management, $5 for Payroll Connect, $10 for Treasury and $8 and up for Expenses, per Deel’s pricing page.

Cost comparison

Team shape Deel plans used Monthly cost (USD)
5 US employees US payroll at $29 per employee $145
10 contractors Contractor management at $49 per contractor $490
5 US employees on PEO US PEO at $125 per employee $625
3 employees abroad, 7 contractors EOR at $599, contractors at $49 $2,140
5 employees abroad EOR at $599 per employee $2,995

Each total is a current Deel list price multiplied by the headcount in its row: five US employees on self-service payroll at $29 makes $145 a month, and three EOR employees at $599 plus seven contractors at $49 makes $2,140 a month. The same five US employees cost $625 a month on the PEO instead, which buys co-employment with benefits included rather than payroll alone.

The totals exclude the money that actually moves: salaries and employer costs pass through Deel at cost, and its own deposit calculation counts employee salary, employer costs, fixed allowances and management fees among the monthly charges an EOR hire generates, per Deel’s deposit rules.

They also exclude the refundable deposit itself, one to one and a half months of all those charges per EOR hire, and any benefits bought through Deel, since global benefits management is a $10 per employee a month add-on on Deel’s pricing page, currently.

What each plan includes

Every Deel plan includes a different slice of the employment stack, and the EOR plan is the full slice: at $599 per employee a month currently, Deel becomes the legal employer, runs managed payroll, tax filings and reporting, administers benefits and handles automated onboarding and compliance, per its pricing page. It also covers remote, on-site and field worker arrangements, and on-demand HR, legal and tax expertise is bundled. That breadth is the product: everything an in-house HR operation would do in a country where you have no entity, priced into one monthly fee.

Contractor management at $49 per contractor a month currently covers centralized contracts, automated invoicing, tax form guidance and document collection, and payments in 120+ currencies, with worker classification compliance tooling included, per Deel’s pricing page. You stay the contracting party on that plan, so the classification call stays with you. The $325 per contractor a month Contractor of Record tier currently moves the contracting party to Deel instead, which is the arrangement an employer of record for independent contractors exists for.

The US professional employer organization (PEO) at $125 per employee a month currently is the co-employment route for US workers: Deel co-employs with you across all 50 states, with benefits included, per Deel’s pricing page. In practice the PEO takes on payroll, tax filings and benefits administration while you keep day-to-day direction of the work. It exists for US employees; workers in other countries go through the EOR plan.

Payroll is $29 per employee a month, currently, in both shapes: US payroll runs self-service across all 50 states with automated federal, state and local tax logic and W-2, W-4 and new-hire reporting handled, while global payroll runs across 130+ countries with country-specific tax filings and statutory reporting, per Deel’s pricing page. A managed option adds a dedicated Deel Payroll Manager on top.

Deel’s HR plans come in three tiers on the Manage tab, currently $5 per employee a month for Core, $19 for Advanced and $29 for Elite, with an applicant tracking system (ATS) add-on at $10 per employee a month, per the pricing page. Recruiting at $14 a worker a month covers job posting with pipeline visibility, AI-powered screening, offer generation and interview scheduling, and access to a vetted talent marketplace.

The limits are mostly in the extras rather than the list price. Deel’s pricing FAQ says there are “no hidden fees”, which is Deel’s own claim, and the refundable deposit and the off-cycle fee in the next section are the counterweight. EOR terminations also follow the worker’s local labor laws, so notice periods and severance can cost more than a monthly fee, per Deel’s pricing page.

Extra costs to budget

Three extras move a real Deel budget: the refundable deposit on every EOR hire, the off-cycle payment fee, and the currency conversion rules around invoices and deposits.

The standard deposit is one to one and a half months of all monthly charges, including employee salary, employer costs, fixed allowances and management fees, for each EOR hire, and it is invoiced and refunded in the EOR location’s currency, per Deel’s deposit rules. Deel returns it when the contract ends and all invoices are settled, whether the worker resigns or is terminated.

The deposit goes higher in countries Deel flags as termination-risk markets, and specific requests add months to it: removing a probation period, agreeing to paid time off more than eight days above the legal minimum, or a notice period beyond one month. Full variable-compensation deposits apply in Israel, France, Germany and the Netherlands, per the same deposit guide.

Off-cycle pay adds a $29 fee for each employee impacted by an on-demand payroll request, under Deel’s off-cycle payments policy. All pending invoices must be settled first, and the payment processes on the next business day.

EOR clients receive two invoices each pay cycle: a payroll invoice in the employee’s local currency, and a separate fee invoice for Deel’s own charges. All fees are denominated in USD until you choose a payment currency, and a deposit paid outside the designated currency carries currency conversion, per Deel’s invoice FAQ.

Who the legal employer is with Deel depends on the plan, per Deel’s pricing page, as of October 2026: under EOR, Deel employs your worker as the legal employer in their country; under the US PEO, Deel and you co-employ; on the current $49 contractor plan, you remain the contracting party; on Contractor of Record, Deel becomes it.

Contractor classification is a legal question, not a billing one. In the US, the IRS applies common-law factors to the whole working relationship, not to the payment tool you use, per the IRS self-employed individuals tax center.

Either side can ask the IRS for a formal determination by filing Form SS-8, which settles the employee-or-contractor question for that specific relationship.

Classification tests differ by jurisdiction: California applies its ABC test and the UK applies its off-payroll rules, so independent contractor misclassification risk follows the worker’s jurisdiction, not the plan name on the invoice.

An EOR plan also has a stated limit worth knowing: Deel takes on the employment relationship for its hires, but it does not remove the permanent establishment risks your own commercial activity in a country can create.

Terminations follow the worker’s country rather than Deel’s contract terms: EOR terminations are subject to local labor laws, meaning the notice periods and severance rules the worker’s jurisdiction sets, per Deel’s pricing page.

Scaling framework

Which Deel plan fits your team is decided by team shape, and each stage is easy to cost at current per-person prices, per Deel’s pricing page.

A contractor-only team currently pays $49 per contractor a month under contractor management, and nothing beyond it unless it later adds employees or an HR plan from $5 per employee a month, per Deel’s published prices.

A first employee in another country lands on EOR at $599 per employee a month currently, and the budget needs the refundable deposit on top, so set aside up to one and a half months of total charges before the first payroll lands, per Deel’s pricing page.

A US-only team chooses between US payroll at $29 per employee a month currently and the US PEO at $125, which adds co-employment with benefits included, per Deel’s current price list.

A mixed team can run the whole roster on one platform: EOR for employees abroad, contractor management for the independents, and the Pay tab add-ons where needed, currently $10 per employee a month for global benefits management, $5 for Payroll Connect, $10 for Treasury and $8 and up for Expenses, per Deel’s pricing page.

Growing headcount in one country is where per-employee fees stop adding up: past a certain team size, hiring through your own local entity costs less than employer of record fees, and where that crossover sits depends on local registration costs and the salaries you run through it, part of the wider question of how much employer of record services cost.

Rivals that publish no list prices can only be judged on a quote held against Deel’s published figures, the approach a direct Deel vs Rippling comparison takes.

FAQ

Deel currently charges $49 per contractor a month for contractor management, and $325 per contractor a month for Contractor of Record, per its pricing page. The $49 plan keeps you as the contracting party; the $325 tier moves the contracting party to Deel.

Deel costs $599 per employee a month under EOR and $49 per contractor a month under contractor management, per Deel’s pricing page. US employees cost less, at $29 per employee a month on US payroll, and EOR hires need the refundable deposit on top.

Deel’s $599 EOR price looks expensive next to its own cheaper plans because it is the full-service tier: legal employment, managed payroll and tax filings, benefits administration and compliance handling in one monthly fee, currently, per Deel’s pricing page. Contractors at $49 and US payroll at $29 per person a month cover narrower needs.

Deel’s payroll plans currently cost $29 per employee a month, for US self-service or for global payroll across 130+ countries, per its pricing page; its US PEO costs $125 per employee a month. A ten-person US team on self-service payroll pays $290 a month in fees, before salaries and employer costs.

Deel is private and does not publish profit figures; its pricing page currently reports more than 40,000 customers and over $20 billion in global payroll processed. Those figures describe the platform’s volume, not its margins.
